My New Adventure

I am about to embark on a whole new adventure! I hope its going to be exciting and fun and not all work! The picture is a commercial corn roaster and I will be heading out in 3 weeks to festivals and events along with my good friend, Sandy. Will be updating what happens along the way. First stop will be in Blowing Rock, NC for the Blue Ridge Heritage Days. To be continued~
Pull Up Those Dang Britches!

The other day I was at Wal-mart waiting on Mom to come out. As I was sittin in the parkin lot, I was watchin the people come and go….something that MOST times is a favorite time-passer. On this particular day though, I realized that something has changed that lil pleasure in life.
A carload of kids (late teen early 20) got out of the car. The girl, dressed much older than she actually was based on the 15lbs of makeup and hair product, was swishin her way to the door with a boy flanking each side. Boy one was thin lil guy…who literally every other step, had to pull up one side of his pants or the other. Meanwhile, the bottoms of them were bulked up at his silly ankles. He was trying to text, and walk, AND pull up his britches….and for the life of me.. I cannot figure out where the comfort is in such a way of wearing your pants. But at least he was covered.
Now I will regress a moment…. I am NOT a prude. I am in fact very human, and will confess that I do NOT turn my eyes away in embarrassment when I see a nice lookin bum in a pair of jeans worn just right. But what I saw next…..gives me the huhhhhs.
The more hefty boy that was with this trio, reaches back approx halfway in the door…and pulls his shirt up to adjust his britches. This gives me a very CLEAR shot of his ENTIRE keester. The waist of his pants were literally below his bum.
I have not seen a young boys keester since my grandson was 2, and quite honestly…I can tell you that I will be FINE if in my lifetime… I never see another one. I wanted to find his granddaddy & beg him to forcibly take the kid to the local recruiter. Or find his grandmama…and let her find a switch to take care of that nekkid butt. I don’t get it.
If you wear your pants this way and are reading this…let me clue you in. I may be a lil older, but I am sure I speak for the masses…..when I tell you….

and for heavens sake…..STOP THAT SILLY BOUNCIN !
And girls…trust me… if the guy you are so crazy about is doin all this…..you SO will NOT think it is cool in 10 yrs.

Sometimes people try to take advantage of you, but you don’t always notice. Over all you’re untainted, friendly, and everyone loves you.
Social Sites

Ok, so here is the thing…
I am trying to keep up with all the new ‘schtuff’ on the web. I have lately though become OVERWHELMED at the existence of so many social sites. Networking…..yikes~
Every time I turn around, there’s a new one someone says ‘join me’ on. Consequently I try it and invite others to play with me. Each one wants a profile, each one wants you to ‘share’. When I try to co-exist however, everything tries to break.
Example : Adding Twitter updates here was easy. Simply put a little code in the footer…Whalah~ Looks great.
Problem: Anytime someone landed on my site.. it asked them for a twitter user name and passy.
Solution: Removed from site as ‘update’.
Example: Open Messenger, it tells me to update my ‘profile’ on Windows Live. I update, and befudgingly end up requesting contacts on my network. OK is fine.
Problem: Now I have yet another site to ‘fix’ ‘update’ ‘intermingle’. OK I will. BUT – Does it allow me to change my custom blog to *Starwink* … nooooooo …. Or does it allow me to add my status updates from Facebook ….. noooooo … So another 2 hrs down …… Yet at least it will allow me to add updates from Twitter… lol
What about this site? I love the music. I love painting my interpretations of it. This is chill time for me. Is anybody visiting? Friends or Family perhaps ? What about comments on anything I have here ? Wouldn’t it be great to know other people enjoy it ? It’s not a freebie site and I’ve been updating it for many years. In fact, I recently tore down approx 500+ pages between here and Jessie’s Web to update it to a more user friendly site where others could join in and comment and blog at will.
Hmmm, wonder if I should find a new hobby? Probably more than half of the posts were by requests, which I gladly would do. So – wanna know why no traffic? Because the same folks who didn’t mind askin for a page, don’t want to take the time or bother to ‘sign in’ here to play. Actually I don’t blame them – I usually don’t either. Yet asking for a sign in is only way I know to keep the ‘uglies’ out. Any suggestions?
One other thing … Have you noticed that with all the social sites goin these days … you pretty much open a vein and bleed out your entire history, relations, etc? Is this good ? I love being able to hear the occasional update from family and friends whom I’d not heard from in ages. Is it good to profile yourself to the umpth degree? Guess it’s all public anyway… I’m sure somewhere it was already on record. One quote I’d heard was ‘There is a reason people from your past are not in your future’. Are we flirting with stress, or opening happier more lasting relationships with long distance families & friends?
One last thing. I did open up another site of mine for ‘public’ ‘no sign in’ “allow trackback & pingback’ commenting. What happened with that??? I got slammed on site by literally thousands of casino & drug spam trackbacks. So, sorry about the sign in but it does protect us all.
WOW, not sure where that came from, but guess I needed to say it. lol
